TGIF: Nautilus clip from "Ocean Deep"

Clips from the BBC series Planet Earth Ocean Deep episode have found their way to YouTube. The clip embedded above starts in a deep (guessing 750m) gorgonian field on a Northeast Pacific seamount, and moves to follow a foraging nautilus that migrated into a shallow water reef by night, from ~400m depth.

  1. Wow, that’s such amazing footage- bonk! Can you imagine an ammonite? So cool.
I told my wife we would get the series but only once we get an HDTV to fully appreciate the photography..

  2. Yertotallyright. I’m holding out for the same. Cheapest flat HDTV I could find was 15″ for $350, last I checked. How’s your luck, HB?

  3. Well, I just bought an iMac and a waterproof digital camera, so I think I’m maxed out on electronics for a while, but that hasn’t stopped me from looking- in Canada true HD (1080 p) is still up there- about two thousand for a 46″. And HDDVD players are expensive still as well. One day.
