On This Episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous…

For the ultra rich in the next decade the Waldorf-Astoria is probably going to be a bit passe. “My pomeranians and I had spent every spring in the Waldorf, but now will it has become ever so cliche!” Luckily, this swath of society simply need to bookmark bornrich.org. whose “sole aim is to help you spend all your hard-earned money on the snootiest thingmazig around. Our people are working around the clock to find ways to empty your wallet and make you bankrupt.”

Last week bornrich.org covered the Top 10 Futuristic Luxury Hotels. Of the elite list 4 are located in outerspace, 3 in warm coastal locations, 1 flys, and 3 are undersea/water.  Of the later group we have already covered one at DSN, #5 The Hydropolis

The Posedion Undersea Resort (#6) is due to be completed by the end of 2008 in Fiji which coincidentally is how long it will take me to save up $15,000 to stay a week.  One part of the resort will be 40 feet underwater in a lagoon and contain 24 suites and 1 luxury apartment.  For an added bonus you can go to 1000 feet in an Explore the Abyss adventure in a Triton 1000 (the same company that produces the Phoenix 1000).

Waterworld (#7) is at the concept phase but would likely be built is China.  From the illustrations of the poorly named complex, it would appear that the resort would dam a river and feature a underwater public areas.

Apeiron Island Hotel (#10), shaped like a sea anemone, features a private lagoon and beach and occurs on its own man made island.

But why be limited to a single location, when you can have a fully foldable and transportable hotel pod (#9)?  With a project cost of near 100 million dollars it i unlikely I will be available to afford this either!
